Keeping Children Safe in Education
Copmanthorpe Primary School is committed to providing a caring, positive and safe environment in which each child’s welfare is of paramount importance. We promote a climate where children and adults feel confident about sharing any concerns which they may have about their own safety or the well-being of others and a culture that encourages our young people to talk openly, and have the confidence they will be listened to.

Operation Encompass
Our school has been given the opportunity to take part in a new project that will run jointly between all schools, academies and colleges in York and North Yorkshire. This new project, Operation Encompass, has been designed to provide early reporting to schools of any domestic abuse incidents that occur outside of normal school hours and that might have had an impact on a child attending our premising the following day. This information will be shared at the earliest opportunity between Monday and Friday and, when a incident occurs on a Friday, Saturday or a Sunday, the police will contact us the following Monday.
